In the morning of October 23, 2013, Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Limited Liability Company organized starting construction Petrochemical Complex in Nghi Son Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province.

Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex project is a key national project. The project has a total investment of US $ 9 billion investment by international oil company Kuwait – KPI, Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation, Idemitsu Kosan, Mitsui Chemicals (Japan) and the international financial institutions. With the combination of international contractors with experience, led by company JGC (Japan), the project will be built in about 4 years.

The project is expected to complete construction in 2017, has a capacity of 10 million tons of petrochemical products per year. United Nghi Son Refinery role ensuring energy security and promote economic development and industrialization of Thanh Hoa province.

The project will meet the needs of petrochemical products of the process of industrialization and modernization of the country. The construction and operation of the project is an important step to step by step toward self-sufficiency of refined petroleum products and ensure the supply of energy. Information about Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Project

Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Project invested by Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) of 25.1%, the company Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI / KPE) 35.1%, Idemitsu Kosan Co., Japan (IKC) 35.1%, Mitsui Chemical Company of Japan (MCI) by 4.7%. Announcing 32 planning projects in economic zone and industrial zone

By the end of June – 2015, the Management  Board of Nghi Son Economic Zone (EZ) has completed, announced 32 plan in EZ and industrial zones (IZs) in the province.
Follow that, there is one general plan; 1 adjustment project, additional development planning of Thanh Hoa IZs to 2020; 1 adjustment project, expand Nghi Son EZ; 29 detailed plan about functional areas and industrial zones in Nghi Son EZ. Currently, the Management Board continues to establish and browser 11 detailed plan in EZ functional areas and industrial zones.
Along with the planning, the Management Board of Nghi Son EZ collaboration with the local authorities to strengthen the management and planning at EZ and IZs. Nearly $ 1 billion USD to build roads connecting the Tho Xuan airport and Nghi Son Economic Zone

As reported by the Department of Transport of Thanh Hoa province, the project to construct a line from the Nghi Son Economic Zone to the Tho Xuan airport  has a length of over 60km traverse of Tho Xuan District, Trieu Son district, Nhu Thanh district, Nong Cong district , Tinh Gia district and Nghi Son Economic Zone.

This project will be constructed in two subprojects. Subproject 1 construction period is 5 years;

Length of nearly 66km from Km49 to Km369 + 500-QL47 + 400-1A Xuan Lam commune; is designed with standard grade III plain; Complete clearance of about 235ha.

Sub-project 1 has three levels of investment, the total investment option 1 is more than 4.5 trillion VND; Option 2 over 8.2 trillion VND and option 3 than 10.4 trillion VND.

Subproject 2 also has two plans under which plan 1 has a length of 63km including 53km long main route from the start line to the junction of Thanh Tan (Km0 – Km53), Ben Sung township branch (branch 1) long 2,1 km and Phu Son – Xuan Lam (branch 2) with 2-lane cross-section 12m in wide. Total investment in Option 1 is estimated nearly 4 trillion VND.

Option 2 subproject 2 will be fully invested all the main routes (Km0 – Km73 + 230) and subsidiary Phu Son – Xuan Lam (Branch 2), 23m wide, Ben Sung township branch (branch 1) cross 12m wide. The total funding for this project sub nearly 9 trillion, while implementing subprojects 2 lasted 5 years.

This route is particularly important in economic development – social, defense and security, especially direct development of Nghi Son economic zone.

Also, this route when completed, will promote the development of South Thanh  Hoa – North Nghe An, Lam Kinh Industrial Zone, Worl Heritage Ho Dynasty Citadel …

The investment on the route is essential and urgent, Thanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee proposed to the Prime Minister for permission to continue implementing projects to build roads from travel Tho Xuan Airport Economic Zone Facilities Son under BT or BOT form.

Chairman of Thanh Hoa Trinh Van Chien suggest, this is a huge project, with a total cost of up to 20.000 billion VND (equivalent to approximately USD $ 1 billion), will recommend to the Prime Minister for allow continued implementation of the project in the form of BT or BOT.

Oil production plant project and the products derived from the Company’s oil NORTALIC built on 5.5 ha area with a total investment of 71.5 million USD. The plant has a capacity of refined cooking oil designed 1,500 tonnes / day, which, in phase 1 of the project will be completed and tested in October 12-2016 with a capacity of 600 tons / day.
